Today I saw an old writing colleague for the first time in many years. What a life my colleague has been living. Journeying the world and working abroad. How fantastic for him.
He looked very different to how I remembered the bastard! He told me of his travels across Asia and his attempts at meeting with the Dalai Lama!! This confuses me. In the years I have lost touch with him, he seems to have discovered some grasp with some sort of higher purpose! Hah! Good luck to him.
I believe it was George Friedrich Hegel who once said: “God is, as it were, the sewer into which all contradictions flow”
I find myself quite disheartened by the loss of years between us. His travel struck me as quite self indulgent, an introspective pilgrimage. I can only guess what he was actually doing overseas, I find it difficult to believe the stories told by this gentleman.
Our meeting was cut short as he was in a rush. I wasn’t doing anything in particular. I can only imagine what would have happened if he had maintained contact with me. He wouldn’t have been going traveling around the world I don’t think.
